Cooperation between Lorestan University and the General Directorate of Natural Resources of the Province for the Expansion of Forest-Based Research

The Memorandum of Understanding on Scientific, Research, and Investigative Cooperation between Lorestan University and the General Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of Lorestan Province was signed and exchanged on Thursday, November 26th, in the office of the President of Lorestan University, with the presence of some national managers in the field of natural resources.
According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, this memorandum was signed by Dr. Mehrdad Dadestani, President of Lorestan University, and Engineer Shirzad Najafi, Director General of Natural Resources of the province, with the aim of developing joint scientific activities, implementing applied projects, and strengthening specialized cooperation for the protection of forests and natural resources.
In this meeting, which coincided with the days of the 7th National Conference on Iranian Forests, Dr. Naghi Shabanian, Advisor to the President of the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization of the country, and Dr. Reza Ahmadi, the implementer of the one billion seedlings planting project, were also present and emphasized the necessity of utilizing the capacity of universities in implementing national programs in the field of natural resources.
Dr. Hamed Naghavi, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources of Lorestan University, also provided explanations in this meeting about the scientific capacities of the university in the field of Zagros research, and explained the importance of joint projects between the university and executive agencies in protecting the Zagros forests.
Based on the provisions of this memorandum, the two parties will expand their cooperation in the fields of research, specialized training, implementation of applied projects, comprehensive forest studies, and the development of scientific activities related to sustainable natural resource management.
This memorandum marks the beginning of a new chapter of scientific and operational cooperation between Lorestan University and the Natural Resources and Watershed Management complex of the province for the knowledge-based protection of the valuable Zagros habitats.
