Forestry Department

The Natural Resources Department of Lorestan University commenced its activities in 1998 with the admission of undergraduate students in the Forestry program within the (sub-division of) the Plant Production Department. From 2000, the Natural Resources Department became an independent department within the Faculty of Agriculture. From 2011, following the separation of the Rangeland and Watershed Management Department from this unit, the Natural Resources Department continued its activities under the title of the Forestry Department.

The department's postgraduate programs began in 2008 with the admission of students in the Master of Science in Forestry program, and in 2012, it succeeded in admitting its first doctoral students in the Forestry specialization. From 2013, with the increase in the department's faculty members, the admission of students in the Master of Science and PhD programs in Forest Science also commenced.

Currently, the department has four specialized faculty members in the Forestry specialization and four specialized faculty members in the Forest Science and Forest Ecology specialization.
